For a second week in a row, the NFL scheduled two games for Monday Night Football. The winless Tennessee Titans (0-3) visit the banged-up Miami Dolphins (1-2) in search of their first victory of the season. Meanwhile, the Detroit Lions (2-1) host the undefeated Seattle Seahawks (3-0) in the second game. Here are some of our best bets from NFL betting sites for MNF in Week 4:

Tennessee Titans (0-3) at Miami Dolphins (1-2)

Monday Night Football is nicknamed the “Gotta Get Unstuck Game of the Week!” because it provides losing bettors with one last chance to wipe out the weekly losses before the next week begins.

However, this MNF matchup between the Titans and Dolphins is ugly. The Titans are considered the worst team in the league after three games, and the Dolphins are so banged-up that they could be starting a quarterback who began this season on a practice squad. Both teams are 0-3 ATS, so someone must cover the spread this week, right?

According to the “look ahead” line by DraftKings Sportsbook, the Dolphins were -2.5 favorites, and the total was 40.5 over/under.

On Sunday evening, the official lines for Week 4 opened in Las Vegas and on US betting apps with the Titans a slight favorite at -1. Early money backed the Dolphins, and the line moved two points. The Dolphins are the new favorite at -1. The points total opened at 37.5 o/u, and bettors backed the under which pushed the total down to 36.5 o/u.

Keep an eye on the point spread and total. At press time, Miami head coach Mike McDaniel had yet to name an official starting quarterback for MNF.

Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is on the IR after sustaining a concussion and head injury in Week 2. Backup Skylar Thompson started Week 3, but he suffered a rib injury and exited the game. Tim Boyle came off the bench and looked better than Thompson, but the Dolphins still lost. Boyle began the season on the Dolphins’ practice squad was promoted to backup QB after they sent Tagovailoa to the IR.

The Dolphins signed Tyler Huntley off the Ravens’ practice squad last week, but he was inactive in Week 3 because he had yet to learn the paybook and get a full week of practice with the team. Huntley is the more talented QB when compared to Thompson and Boyle, but his availability for Week 4 is unknown.

Meanwhile, the Titans have yet to win a game with Will Levis at quarterback this season. After the Carolina Panthers benched Bryce Young, Levis had taken over the dubious distinction as the worst starting QB in the NFL. He threw more interceptions (5) than touchdowns (4) and has a QBR rating of 29.5. During his rookie season in 2023, Levis went 3-6 as the starting QB for the Titans. His career record as starter is now 3-9, and he lost his last five starts dating back to last season.

Considering the unstable backup QB situation for the Dolphins and both teams looking to run the ball, we like the points under as one of our MNF best bets. The Dolphins are the lowest scoring team in the NFL (11.0 ppg) and the Titans are the fifth lowest (16.0 ppg). The Dolphins are 3-0 in hitting the under, and the Titans are 2-1 with their unders.

Regardless of who starts at quarterback, the Dolphins will run the ball as much as possible to win this game. With Raheem Mostert banged up, De’Von Achane will garner most of the touches. We’re eying MNF player props at DraftKings, where Achane is +150 odds to score an anytime touchdown. He’s also the betting favorite to score the first TD of the game at +650 odds, and he’s +1100 odds to score multiple TDs.

Seattle Seahawks (3-0) at Detroit Lions (2-1)

• Point Spread: DET -3.5
• Total: 46.5 o/u

The Seahawks are one of five undefeated teams and they’re currently in first place in the NFC West. The Lions made it to the NFC Championship last postseason and narrowly missed a trip to Super Bowl 58.

The Lions are ranked #9 in defensive DVOA, ranked #9 in scoring defense (17.3 ppg), and ranked #4 in rushing defense that allows less than 77 yards per game.

The Lions are 2-1 SU and ATS, but all three games were decided by one score. They edged out the Rams in their home opener by six points, lost at home to the Tampa Bay Bucs by four points, and defeated the Arizona Cardinals by seven points in their first road game.

The Lions’ offense has been struggling to score touchdowns, especially quarterback Jared Goff who threw more interceptions (4) than touchdowns (3) in the first three games. Despite racking up the fourth-most yardage in the league (399.7 yards per game), the Lions are only ranked #16 in scoring (20.7 ppg). They are ranked #26 in red zone touchdowns with a 38.5% success rate. In 2024, the Lions were the second most efficient team in the red zone with a 66.7% success rate.

All Pro wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown caught only one touchdown this season and tight end Sam LaPorta has yet to find the end zone. Fantasy football owners and avid DFS participants are irked at the lack of production considering St. Brown and LaPorta both caught 10 touchdowns last season. At least their running backs have been productive. David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs combined for four rushing touchdowns, and Gibbs added an additional TD reception.

Mike Macdonald was one of the top defensive coordinators in the NFL in 2022 and 2023. The Seahawks hired him as their new head coach, and McDonald imported his defensive philosophy and mindset to the Pacific Northwest. Only three games into his tenure with the Seahawks, their vastly improved defense is currently ranked #2 in defensive DOVA. They’re also ranked #1 in passing defense (132.0 yards per game), #2 in total yardage (248.7 yards), and ranked #4 in scoring defense (14.3 ppg). Their airtight pass defense allowed only one touchdown catch, which fires up the fan base who are nostalgic for the Legion of Boom halcyon days.

Despite a 3-0 record, the Seahawks are 1-1-1 ATS against some low-fi opponents including the Denver Broncos, New England Patriots, and Miami Dolphins without Tagovailoa. Skeptics point toward their early schedule as a reason to doubt the Seahawks.

The Seahawks’ offense looked a little off without starting running back Kenneth Walker, who sustained an oblique injury in Week 1. Backup RB Zach Charbonnet scored three TDs as a replacement, but he only averages 3.5 yards per carry (compared to Walker at 5.2). Wide receiver DK Metcalf caught one touchdown and tallied 100+ yards in each of his last two games. He hauled in 104 yards on just four receptions in Week 3 thanks to a 71-yard touchdown bomb from Geno Smith.

The points total at most US betting sites is 46.5 o/u and the under looks enticing considering the Seahawks have a top-notch defense that allowed only three touchdowns in three games. We have faith in the Seahawks and their smothering defense against a sluggish Lions’ offense. We’re backing the Seahawks as a +3.5 road dog for one of our best bets on MNF.
