? Online Craps for Real Money

Online Craps

Betway is one of the licensed online casinos in the online gaming industry where you can play craps games online for real money. First deposit offer valid for NJ & PA new customers, but you can’t use it on craps.

Few other casino games generate a buzz like a craps table at land-based casinos in Las Vegas and Atlantic City. This dice game can attract quite a crowd when a shooter is on a hot streak. Every time they hit a 7 or 11, everyone cheers.

Despite the popularity of this social game, craps wasn’t common on U.S. online casinos until 2023. Several popular online casinos and almost every new online casino now let you play mobile craps as a software and live dealer game. You can find online craps for real money in all states where online casinos are legal; the best part is that there’s always an open spot at the craps table.

Types of Craps Games Online

The most common way to play craps online for real money is a software game. You play the game alone, but all the features are present in the software versions. You can learn the craps table in your own pace, choose your game time, and you are always the shooter! Like all casino games available online, craps is made with a random number generator which means every time the shooter rolls, the result is truly random.

Software providers have created live craps games to complement the software based options. Evolution Gaming first introduced a live table through their First Person Craps game. Several major U.S. casino operators have this game, which lets you switch from a software game to the live one when you choose to. Going live is a fun option to engage with other players and the dealer.

In addition, some online casino sites offer a live dealer craps game separately. While all craps sites still have a limited selection of live games, craps is becoming one of the most popular games since it provides the same entertainment online and in-person. When playing live craps online, you can see a physical table where the live dealer throws each dice roll.

You can play craps online with your mobile devices or laptop; mobile craps works on the apps and the browsers. All of our favorite casinos have both an app for iOS and Android devices and a website, but some of our recommended casinos have just an app. You can download the casino apps for Android and iOS devices from the application stores; once you’ve signed up, you can start to play craps online in your own home!

Craps Bonuses

There are no specific craps bonuses even on the best casinos. However, some welcome bonus offers and reload bonuses let you play craps with the credits; always read the T&Cs to make sure whether real money craps games count towards wagering requirements.

? The Best Craps Casinos USA 2024

Since craps is a relatively new game online, it’s not available on all online casinos yet. However, there are already plenty of options if you want to play craps online.

There are currently no specific online craps bonuses on any casino site, but new customers should still claim the welcome bonuses if they enjoy different casino games as well. If you need bonus codes, you can find them on BonusFinder US. If you want to play craps for real money, check out this comparison of the best online craps sites:

Craps Casino Online Welcome Bonus # of Craps Games Demo Play?

BetRivers $250-$500 Welcome Bonus 2 No
BetMGM $1,000 First Deposit Match + $25 No Deposit Bonus Offers 4 No
FanDuel Casino Up to $1,000 Back + $20 in Site Credit 2 No
Borgata Casino $1,000 + $20 No Deposit Welcome Bonus Offer 4 No

1. DraftKings: #1 Online Craps Casino

The best casino to play craps games on is (unsurprisingly) DraftKings Casino. Just the fact alone that they are live in five states with legal online casino gaming is enough to push them over the other options, but their real money craps games and the user interface are not that bad either.

Since the game is quite complex, you don’t really need additional distractions while playing, and the gameplay is very smooth on desktops and mobile devices. In addition to a standard and an exclusive craps game, they have a great casino game selection and tons of slot games, fast payouts with secure payment methods, and some of the top bonuses in the industry for selected games. However, other online casinos offer a good online craps experience too. Please play responsibly on all real money craps casinos.

2. BetRivers

BetRivers is another excellent option for craps enthusiasts who also like other table games. BetRivers has craps in all four of their online casinos, although just live dealer craps games in West Virginia. In other states, you can play Craps First Person as well.

BetRivers’ bonuses for new players have just 1x wagering requirements, which means you can get through them in no time. In three states, you play with your own money and then get losses comped back, meaning you can try craps and get casino credits back.

3. BetMGM

BetMGM is the best online casino in the U.S. according to BonusFinder US, so you won’t be disappointed if you sign up here. While you won’t be able to use your bonus funds on craps, there are plenty of other games, mainly table games and online slots, to try out if you want to cash in the welcome bonuses.

Some of BetMGM’s online craps casinos have just a live dealer option, which puts it behind the top sites of DraftKings and BetRivers craps casino. Still, the excellent experience makes up for it and the fact that BetMGM has mainly the same games as many online craps sites and nothing that original.

4. FanDuel

FanDuel Casino also has a refund bonus for new players, but theirs is up to $1,000. This means you can play any casino games during the first day and get your losses up to $1,000 refunded in casino credit. This is one of the few welcome bonus options you can use to start playing online craps and other table games with the casino credit. But since FanDuel has a bit worse selection of craps games, they take spot #4 on our craps casino list.

FanDuel is also available in four states and the well-known platform is a great option for any player. FanDuel is best known for their sports betting offerings, which is why the casino sometimes feels like an afterthought when it comes to promotions or game variety. However, they have instant withdrawals and a great mobile app for iOS and Android devices.

5. Borgata

Borgata is the smallest of the craps online casinos we recommend here in terms of online slots, but they were one of the first to offer craps in the U.S. New users get a first deposit bonus up to $1,000 for real money games excluding software and live craps, unfortunately.

Borgata Casino PA and New Jersey are currently the brand’s only U.S. casinos, which is why it’s #5 on the list. The craps options are solid though, so residents on the East Coast should definitely consider Borgata if they like craps games.

Why Are These Casinos the Best for Craps?

In addition to being present in most of the real money online casino states, the best online craps casinos have great online casino games, excellent bonuses, and terrific apps and websites. If you get bored playing online craps, there are plenty of other options to try. You can read more about how we review to understand why we’ve chosen these casinos for this list.

Even more importantly, all of the casinos BonusFinder US recommends are legal and licensed in each state where they operate. Playing on legal casinos means you participate in a legit industry and have resources if you need help or are wronged.

If you choose to play on offshore casinos, you don’t know if they are operating Random Number Generators, if they honor bonus wagering, or whether your personal and banking information is stored safely. To understand legal and responsible gambling more, please visit our Responsible Gambling guide.

Craps for Real Money

Many online casinos provide a generous welcome bonus to new users and other promotional offers. Note that you can’t play craps online with a welcome bonus.

? How to Play for Real Money

The craps table is a beloved part of the land-based casino experience. And while playing online craps might not give you the same experience as playing with others, it offers the all the excitement with the comforts of home.

Before you start, you need to master the rules and the correct craps lingo. Despite the busy table layout, it’s easy even for beginners to learn to play; follow our step-by-step guide to get started with the most common type of craps online. Remember to check out the minimum and maximum bet limits before the game begins.

  • Craps is played in two phases. You begin a round with basic bets on either the Pass Line or Don’t Pass Bar. The shooter then throws a come-out roll with two dice. If they roll the dice into a 7 or 11, the Pass Line bets win. If 2, 3, or 12 hits, the Don’t Pass bets win. If the shooter throws any other number, nobody wins or loses. Instead, that number becomes the point number.
  • If the roller sets a point number, Pass Line wagers depend on that point hitting. So if the shooter throws a 4, you hope 4 is rolled before a 7. If a 7 comes up first, all Pass Line bettors lose, whereas Don’t Pass bets win. Note that the other three numbers (2, 3, or 12) from the come-out roll don’t matter anymore at this stage.
  • If you hit a point, the round continues and you can place new Pass Line bets. You continue playing and throwing the dice until you lose a bet. Experienced players bet several wagers during a game. A new shooter takes over every round, the turn passing around the table.
  • What about wagering? During the come-out roll, always place a Pass Line bet, which has a better chance of winning than a Don’t Pass bet. Of the numbers a roller can make, 7 is the most common, hitting 16.67% of the time. Together 7 and 11 (hits 5.56% of the time), your bet wins 22.23% of the time, meaning they have the best odds.
  • What about Come and Don’t Come bets? After the first roll the shooter continues throwing and these wagers function like the Pass Line and Don’t Pass bet, but they last for the rest of the round. You choose either one of the choices, and then the next roll determines the number you either want to appear or not before a 7.
  • With these tips, you can begin to play craps online and place bets, or learn about the more complicated rules.

Free Odds Bets

The return-to-player percentage (RTP) for Pass Line, Don’t Pass, Come, and Don’t Come bets are pretty favorable when you play real money craps online. A player wagering on these outcomes will get 98.6% of their money back in the long run.

However, the best way to narrow the house edge even further is to bet on any of these options and make “Free Odds” wagers during the point phase. These wagers have no house edge, aka have “true odds”. These are the best bets you can make in real money games as they are no-brainer bets.

When you place a free odds bet with a Pass bet or Come bet, your RTP increases to 99.2%. Do it together with a Don’t Pass / Don’t Come bet, and the payout percentage rises to 99.3%. If the game allows a double odds bet, you can push your RTP to 99.5% and win big if you’re lucky!

Other Bets in a Game

As you can probably tell from the layout, craps tables have more bets you can make in addition to the multi-roll bets we just covered. Field Bets, Big 6 and Big 8, and Any Seven are some of the other craps bets that are available to you but we don’t recommend you place these bets. Let’s see what other craps wagers exist.

  • Field Bet: Can be placed on a specific number after the come-out roll; if the dice land on 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, or 12 on the next roll, you win. Most wins are even money.
  • Big 6 and Big 8: These are sucker bets; you bet that a 6 or an 8 comes up on a dice roll before a 7. The house edge on these bets is very high, so we don’t recommend them.
  • Any Craps: This means rolling the dice to 2, 3, or 12 next. Most players avoid these wagers and look for better odds.
  • Hardways: The shooter hits a pair on the dice on the next throw.
  • Place Bets: A place bet relates to the numbers at the top of the table; you can place proposition bets on the point numbers 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 to come before a 7 is rolled.
  • Any Seven: Bets that the shooter rolls a 7 next.

The 3% Rule

Want to avoid significant losses at the craps table? Then follow what many players know as the 3% rule. In short, you should never wager on anything with less than 97% RTP, which translates into a decent house edge.

Bad bets that violate the 3% rule include single roll bets, any craps, hardways, and hop bets. The worst offender is the “Any Seven” square – it has a dismal RTP of 83.3%, which means you are unlikely to beat the house often.

Playing Craps Online

Craps players mostly place the same bets during a game. Some call Don’t Pass/Come as “betting wrong” as you’re essentially betting against the dice.

? Why You Should Play Online Craps

While playing craps in person is a fun gaming experience, you should consider playing online. While the experience isn’t as social, there are several benefits to online gaming. You can play for free to learn the game, take craps games with you when you travel by downloading a casino app, and you can get your winnings withdrawn whenever you want straight to your bank account. Let’s check out more details!

Free Online Craps Games

If you want to see what craps games are about before you start playing online craps for real money, you can try out demo mode on DraftKings Online Casino to play craps for free.

Free craps games are a great way to practice playing and master the different bets and strategies before you venture over to the actual casino game and spend your own money. Even the best real money sites don’t let you play craps using only bonus funds for a good reason (the player wins so often), so you need to use demo mode to play for free.

Playing on Mobile

Online gambling on a mobile device has become one of the most popular gaming methods. In addition to convenience, mobile apps let users play wherever they want to on their mobile devices. An online craps game is probably not the best table game to play on your phone, as the wide variety of info on the table doesn’t translate easily to mobile compatibility.

However, you can find the game on the iOS and Android mobile casinos we recommend. In addition, downloading casino apps from the App Store or the Google Play Store takes only a few minutes. You can also play on the mobile website if you don’t want to download a mobile app for every casino.

Banking Methods

Before your can start playing craps online for real money, you need to make a deposit on your account. In America, the best online casinos provide a variety of deposit methods for players. Deposit options on a cashier page may include the following:

  • Debit Cards / Credit Cards (Visa/MasterCard/etc.)
  • Online Bank Transfer
  • PayPal
  • Skrill
  • Cash at the Cage
  • Money Orders
  • PayNearMe by 7-Eleven
  • E-checks/ACH

Credit cards, online bank transfers, and eChecks are fast and convenient payment methods for most people since options like Mastercard casinos are widely available.

However, they may not work for everyone. Some banks ban online gaming transactions for credit card deposits, and some players require more discreet banking options for depositing.

E-wallets like PayPal, Skrill/Neteller, and PayNearMe are all good workarounds, as they bypass prudish banks while respecting privacy. On bank/card statements, the first two methods don’t say where you spent debited funds. And in the case of PayNearMe, the only paper trail is an ATM receipt (if that).

How to Withdraw

After shooting dice on online craps, you’re ready to withdraw your winnings. The best online casinos allow you to withdraw using the following banking options:

  • Online Bank Transfer
  • PayPal
  • Skrill/Neteller
  • Cash at the Cage
  • E-checks/ACH
  • Paper checks
  • Prepaid casino cards

Unlike deposits, withdrawals take time to process, regardless of whether you’re using the same payment method to deposit and withdraw. Upon receiving a withdrawal request, casino management will take up to a couple of hours to review it, which is not a bad thing. Once they approve your withdrawal, it has to make its way through the banking/postal system.

You can ask customer support how long your chosen method takes, but fastest withdrawals occur when you use the same payment method for both deposits and withdrawals. The top online craps sites listed here have reliable payouts, so you can enjoy craps gambling without worrying whether you will get your money or not.

? How to Get Started

Now that you know everything you need to know about real money online craps bets, you are ready to play!

  1. Be present in CT, DE, MI, NJ, PA, or WV: These are the only online gambling where you can play online craps legally for real money. If you want to, you can play craps online for free on social casinos in many more states but you won’t be able to win real money. In addition, only a few social casinos offer online craps games at this time so there isn’t a massive variety of options.
  2. Choose a casino to sign up on: You can choose from the online craps casinos we recommend, or any of the ones at the top of this page. All craps sites listed here are legit and legal in your state; read more from our casino reviews. Most online casinos offer at least live dealer craps, if not a couple different craps games, and a native mobile app.
  3. Complete registration: Once you’ve made your pick, click on the link and fill in the registration form. You’ll need to provide some personal details, and choose your deposit method to make the minimum deposit. While you can register from anywhere, you can’t play craps online for real money if you’re not in the six states mentioned above, which is why we recommend you wait until you get there to sign up.
  4. Start gaming: Now you’re all set! Remember that if you cashed a welcome bonus, craps doesn’t impact the playthrough requirement in most cases. Depending on the mobile site you chose, you can first practice the dice rolls by playing on demo mode. Once you have the strategy down, you can start playing real money craps online! Please play responsibly.

? FAQ

1?? Is it legal to play real money online craps games in the US?
Yes, but it depends on your state. All forms of online casino gambling are currently legal in Delaware, Connecticut, New Jersey, West Virginia, Michigan and Pennsylvania. This means you can play real money craps online on a casino site. Some casinos don't currently offer online craps, but we expect it to become more popular over time. Elsewhere, players can enjoy a game in retail settings. Please gamble responsibly.
2?? Where can I play live casino craps?
Live craps just made their debut in the US on selected casinos. Currently, live dealer games are available on DraftKings, FanDuel, BetRivers, and some other recommended casinos. You can find more information on the sites from our casino reviews, including whether they offer live craps.
3?? What do I need to know to play online craps games?
Beginner players should familiarize themselves with a few things before they start an online craps game for the first time. First, get to know the basic rules, odds, and bets. Second, check out free games from social casinos or test demo mode before using your own cash. Remember that a Pass Line bet is the most common way to win real money at craps! Finally, you can also seek out craps strategies, but like all dice games, it is a game of luck.
4?? Are online craps games rigged?
No, they're provably fair games on regulated casino sites. An online craps table, just like all casino games that pay real money, is created using a Random Number Generator in a secure environment. This means that all dice throws are truly random, and your bets have an equally good chance of winning as at the best land-based casinos in Las Vegas. Note that all slot machines, video poker games, and table games have a house edge, so you'll lose money playing craps in the long term. The best online craps sites we recommend all offer a safe place for playing craps but you are still using your own money, so betting strategically and within your own limits is important.
